Hi everyone!
First things first: I am so delighted you are here. I know that there are literally nine billion things competing for your attention right now, and the fact that you are still reading this sentence feels remarkable to me.
For those of you who know me, hello friends! Lovely to see you.
For those of you who do not, here's a quick intro to both me and this newsletter.
I'm the co-founder and Chief Content Officer of Who What Wear, where I have worked for the last 15 years. I also am the creator/host of two podcasts: Second Life, which is all about women who have made a leap or pivot in their careers, and the lessons they've learned along the way, and Who What Wear with Hillary Kerr, which is basically your direct line to the designers, stylists, beauty experts, editors, and tastemakers who are shaping the fashion and beauty industries.
Prior to starting Who What Wear, I was a freelance writer for various publications like ELLE, Teen Vogue, and Nylon, and before that I was an editor at ELLE, where I covered food, travel, entertaining, lifestyle, art, fitness, beauty, music, and more.
On a personal note, I'm based in LA, where I live with my husband, two little kids, and a very stinky dog. I am obsessed with all things pop culture, a voracious reader and TV watcher (I make it through about two movies a year, much to my husband's chagrin), and newly kinda/sorta into exercise?
As for Hi Everyone, the inspiration for this newsletter is simple: I have spent the last 20 years as an editor, and the last 15 as an entrepreneur, which means I'm lucky enough to know some of the most interesting, forward-thinking, and inspiring experts and luminaries in the fashion, beauty, and business worlds. I've spent my whole career trying products before they launch, interviewing the most talked-about people in the world, and having behind-the-scenes access to brands, designers, talent, and more.
And while that is all well and good—and very enjoyable—the part I really love, the part that makes me the happiest, is sharing what I learn along the way. So that's what Hi Everyone is about: sharing recommendations, suggestions, and occasional advice, gleaned from over two decades of my career.
Hi Everyone will be shortish, sweet, and come out weekly, so please subscribe below, and feel free to leave me a message or DM me to let me know what you'd like to see in this space.
xxHillary
